The purpose of SSOAR:
In an effort to improve student attendance and provide an opportunity to participate in an instructional setting emphasizing learning to make up lost instructional time, a Saturday Opportunity Attendance Recovery Program will be implemented at Robert C. Fisler School October 2012 - May 2013. The program will provide students with an opportunity to recover an unexcused or unverified absence. Excused absences may also be recovered by voluntarily attending a Saturday session.
The Saturday morning session will be conducted at Robert C. Fisler School from 8:00AM to 12:15PM. Students will be grouped by grade level and assignments will be aligned with the current state standards and assessments. Students will sign in for attendance verification purposes and information in regards to who or how the students will be picked up at the close of the session.
When attending a Saturday Opportunity Attendance Recovery Program session, students must arrive on time and be ready to begin instruction at 8:00AM. Students are encouraged to bring their own classroom assignments that need to be completed or complete the assignments given by the Saturday School teacher. Cooperation is expected during the session and all regular school rules including dress code will be enforced.
