Mrs. Morris - 5th Grade

While I was earning my teaching credential, I took a job working at
Nordstrom. On my first day of training, I was handed the employee manual, a shiny postcard that read: USE GOOD JUDGMENT IN ALL SITUATIONS. I was impressed by this statement because it was so smart and simple, and yet so universally practical and applicable to nearly any situation. How could I ask anything more of my students but to use good judgment in all situations? Homework, test scores, kindness toward others, life choices, etc. are all a result of judgment, be it good or bad.
However, on a less practical note, my mission for this class is for each student to find (and have the courage to pursue) his or her OWN MISSION. That may happen in the fifth grade or years after college; I believe that happiness is the one thing that all people strive
for. A life lived with a mission, is a life lived with the passion from the heart, and a life lived with passion from the heart is life full
of love. As the Beatles song goes, “All you need is love.” From love,
happiness flows.
