Welcome to 8th Grade Physical Science My name is Melinda Candelaria. This is my 7th year teaching 8th Grade Physical Science at Nicolas Jr. High School. We have many exciting hands on activities and projects to reinforce the concepts learned in science. We learn about Lab Safety, the Scientific Method, and the Metric System in the first quarter of school. In the 2nd quarter, we learn about Physics (Motion and Forces, Gravity, Density and Buoyancy). In the 3rd quarter, we learn about Chemistry (Periodic Table, Atomic Structure, States of Matter, Chemical Bonds, Chemical Reactions, pH, and Solutions). In the 4th quarter, we learn about Astronomy (Solar System, Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe ). We enhance our learning through technology which provides an added dimension of academics to our class. I look forward to teaching you the Wonderful World of Physical Science!
