My name is Mrs. Licona and I am the Response to Intervention (RtI) specialist here at Richman Elementary!

RtI is an emerging approach to meet the needs of struggling learners.  Using data and observations, selected students are given multiple research-validated interventions in a small group setting, without missing any core instructional time.  Academic progress is monitored frequently using various methods of assessment to track student progress.

I meet with every grade level weekly to share information about our students, our standards and our goals. I work with students in grades 1-6 to assist them in gaining reading fluency, comprehension, and a richer vocabulary.  The best part of my day is seeing what each child can do and helping him or her reach the next step!
