Meet Mrs. Hollenbeck

I was born in New York but grew up right here in Fullerton. I went to Raymond Elementary School, Wilshire Junior High, and Fullerton High School (Go Indians!). I graduated  from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Human Services and I have a Master of Arts Degree in Education.

As a child, I always loved school and knew early on I wanted to be a teacher. I have been so lucky to have spent my entire teaching career of 28 years, right here at Orangethorpe School. It is my home away from home. I can’t imagine myself anywhere else!

I was here when we became both a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School and I hope to be here when we do it again. Over the years I have served on the PTA Board, the School Site Council, Leadership Team, Student Study Team, Academic Olympics Committee and just about every aspect of Orangethorpe School. I am active with the Fullerton Elementary Teachers Association and serve on various District Committees.

Most recently, I have enjoyed becoming part of the modified 1:1 Laptop Program within the District. I have gone from never having taken a typing class in high school, to being hooked on using computers throughout the day. It is so exciting that each of my students has a laptop in the classroom to use for a variety of educational purposes. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I hope to pass that love of learning along to each and every one of my students.

I am married to my high school sweetheart. We live in Fullerton and have a grown son and daughter whom we are very proud of. They also attended  schools in the Fullerton School District. I have a fluffy white Maltipoo named Willy. I love to sleep in late, go shopping, tend to my flowers, and read.

Please come by to say hello!
