      <description>Room 2 students were introduced to the how-to writing genre by reading an assortment of instructional manuals.  This allowed students to see how how-to writing related to their everyday lives.  In addition, they were able to understand that there are purposes for writing other than for the teacher to read and grade it.  Each student chose a familiar topic and explained the necessary steps in sequential order.  Students then came up with an illustration to go along with their writing and uploaded the photo to iPhoto.  The last step was to record themselves using GarageBand and upload the finished product to iTunes.  Please enjoy a few sample Podcasts from room 2...</description>
